Course Description One Gold Seal Point
The key to properly interpreting construction documents begins with basic blue print reading. The basics must include the ability to fully understand and interpret drawings. This class is designed to provide you with foundation knowledge and enough practice at reading blueprints to know how a set of blueprint drawings are put together, drawing types, the scale and the interrelationships between drawings and project information.
This class includes more than just the reading of blueprints—construction documents are comprised of specifications and drawings and are the basic means of communication in the construction industry. The key to properly interpreting construction documents lays in understanding the basic framework of a full set of documents. The day will include review and discussion on both components, their importance, priority, details, information and influence on the construction industry.
The morning will introduce the process of construction document preparation, interpretation and resolution. The session will provide a clear understanding of the requirements and information found in construction documents for use in bidding and field purposes.
The afternoon will provide an understanding of construction techniques, procedures and the reasons for the way things are put together.
